Apple – Inside Number Three Book – Roadshow Presentation

The anticipated follow-up to the successful book Inside Number Three has now fully materialised as a fully-fledged and produced Presentation Event.

The unique book written and assembled by Nigel Pearce, Inside Number Three has now become a living presentation experience and has already made a brilliant start in bringing that world live to an audience. It takes you back to a different long-forgotten world. which only makes one wish you could stay there and live it all again.

Using his beautifully displayed collection of Apple memorabilia,(or this part of it!) as a colourful base, Nigel has expanded the publication into a living retrospective, of the revolutionary world hidden behind that famous white door at No 3 Savile Row, London W.1

Accompanying this excellent presentation are some of his precious artefacts, including records, posters, memos, and video collages showing artists and other advertisements of that time between 1968 -1976.

By using these items as an educational and illustrative synopsis, one is given a rare insight into those long-lost colourful days and times long passed. It reinvigorates those memories from grainy flashbacks into vivid colour, and brings them once again to life. It also educates those fans who were not there and illustrates how revolutionary those at Apple were.

By careful use of marrying the book, with on-screen photographs and artefacts, coupled with his own knowledge and delivery, you have an event that you will never forget, which includes time for questions and further discussion.

For a current review please visit norfuknews.com to find out more, and Nigel has already opened for Steve Hackett for one of his famous acoustic weekends.  This presentation makes for a perfect Beatle-orientated event, so for further details please contact us here at The Beatles Bookstore, or via www.insideandoutsideno3.com where your enquiry will be dealt with.

We will be mentioning the purchase for The Beatles to be the base for Apple Records etc. as well as a little section on the Get Back sessions. We will also re-print the affidavit submitted to the High Court by Alen Klein, for the famous case of Paul McCartney versus the other three Beatles and Apple Corps.

We will also reprint the full page published detailing the judgement given by QC Mr. Justice Stamp, who was presiding over the proceedings.

This publication again will be issued from documents held in my personal collection, and again many of which have been forgotten, or never seen. Discussions are being held now with publishers, and they are apparently very keen. More will be revealed.

There is going to be another “Inside Number Three” Book titled ‘Deeper Inside Number Three‘ where we will take you further inside this colourful and magical world, which still fascinates, and mystifies so many Beatles and Music fans today nearly 60 years after the project started. Apple Records is a music phenomenon and is still an organisation of mystery and intrigue, but more will be revealed, as the famous song said in 1963 “It Won’t Be Long”.

There will be more to come!!

Inside No. 3 – Apple Records

Fresh From Apple Sticker

Apple Records

Apple Records being based at Savile Row put The Beatles right in the heart of London. But it also brought the heart of the music business to The Beatles, as they not only made the news, they were actually right at the centre, making and orchestrating it, creating trends, and turning ideas and new thoughts into reality. This colourful world was one that largely remained behind that locked door at No3.

What has been achieved by the publication of Inside No3 was that that door was opened to show the world a small part of that hitherto hidden world, via part of my collection carefully assembled via letters, memos, records, and memorabilia, that we will delve deeper Inside No3 via the second book.

Following on from the Our First Four presentation, I have the pleasure in showing some further marketing pieces and Memorabilia offered to the world via Apple Records.

Beatles In New York? Dear Sir or Madam, Will You Write This Book?

Start Spreading the News……..New York, New York

A book that needs to be published and many would be interested in seeing it. I sincerely hope that someone out there can acquire the appropriate rights to do a project such as this:

John and Paul of The Beatles in New York to announce Apple in 68!!!

When this blog began it was noted that as well as showing rare Beatles-related books and magazines, a few posts would appear speculating as to what books were needed or would present a good story both visually and verbally.

One book I have always longed for, and that I hope someone can undertake, is a detailed study of John and Paul’s trip in 1968 to announce Apple. There are many fans that took their own photos and would need to give permission for their use in the book.

John and Paul gave a press conference at the  Apple announcement and people that were there can give their accounts of the event.

Beatles Fan Photos

John and Paul, along with Neil Aspinall, and a few others took a walk in Central Park and there are fan photos that exist. I am sure there are some amusing stories from that walk that must survive as well.

The Tonight Show

The Tonight Show with John and Paul was erased by NBC but some 8-millimeter footage still exists. The entire audio of the show survives. There must be some great recollections of that show that survive from members of the stage crew or even from members of the audience.

John and Paul also visited the apartment of Brian Epstein’s attorney, Nat Weiss, and stayed with him at his apartment. Photos survive of the door that John and Paul signed at the apartment with possibly the largest autographs they ever made in their lifetime.

Lennon and McCartney

Many photos exist of Lennon and McCartney, along with Mal Evans, and many others of the Beatles contingent, like Ron Kass, on a Chinese junk that circled Manhattan. The business of Apple was discussed there and if there are any survivors from that junket to tell their stories accompanied by the photos, it would be a great way to bring the book to a close. Sure hope someone takes on the task one day!

Any other books that you would like to be published that haven’t already been covered? Let me know in the comments below.

A is for Apple

A is for Apple

A is for Apple and also for Astounding!!!

This series of books which originally was intended as a 6 volume series to tell the fascinating story of the Beatles company is now, according to an insider, being considered as an expanded 10 volume set. Four completed volumes have been issued up to this point and buyers wait in eager anticipation for the next book in the series.

A is for Apple 2
A is for Apple 2
A is for Apple Volume 3
A is for Apple Volume 3
A is for Apple Volume 4
A is for Apple Volume 4

The research on these volumes is impeccable and intense. The three authors, Ed Dieckmann, Axel Korinth, and Antonio Caroselli never disappoint in uncovering troves of information about the Apple organization that was not previously known. The books also feature guest presentations by other authors and contributors. The volumes are truly works of art, each boasting between 700 and 800 pages with beautiful color photos throughout.

Each volume is limited to 500 copies and are a must-own for Beatles collectors everywhere. The books, like most limited-edition books, are on the higher expense side of things, but the end result truly makes it worth the additional expense. In the future, this complete series of books may be known as the bible of Apple information.

Bill Zygmant – Psychedelic Photograph

It is one of the most iconic photos of swinging London and of the Beatles’ Apple empire. Taken by Bill Zygmant, he explains how he came to take this photo.

“After the photographing of the caravan, I was driving through London and I saw this building being painted. And I thought; “I recognise that design”. It was done by the same artist – “The Fool” – from Holland. So, I took the pictures, just before it was finished, and of course it was whitewashed a few days later because they didn’t have planning permission. There are no other good pictures of it, because it wasn’t up for that long.”

Inside the Apple Boutique
Inside the Apple Boutique

Located on the corner of Baker Street and Paddington Street, Marylebone, The Beatles’ Apple Boutique was
opened on 7th December 1967 to a great fanfare. However, it was chaotic, as was most of the Apple ventures. It closed on 31st July 1968, with The Beatles announcing a free-for-all.

The iconic design was from a collective known as “The Fool”. They consisted of Dutch designers Simon Posthuma and Mrijke Koeger, together with artist Josje Leeger. These three had met Simon Hayes and Barry Finch on a trip to London, and decided to work together under the name, “The Fool”. The introduction to The Beatles came through George’s wife Patti.

It is a Limited Edition book of only 250 copies with a signed photograph of John and Yoko worth £50!
