Beautiful book of photos taken in 1963 by Norman Parkinson: With The Beatles

A beautiful book of Beatles photos taken in 1963 by noted British photographer, Norman Parkinson. His son, Simon Parkinson signed all 350 copies for his late father. Simon had assisted his father in taking several photos on the day this photo session occurred. This is a wonderful book to add to your collection if you can locate a copy. To state the obvious, since there are only 350 copies of this book, it is on the expensive part of the ledger!

Details of the date of publication and the publisher are noted below.

To me, this is a clear example, of one of the prime jewels of collecting limited-edition Beatles books.

  1. I am in possession of a copy of this book, however, there is a Rufus Stone sticker on the signed page stating
    “Issue number
    200
    of 1,000 Worldwide”
    then the Rufus logo
    and under that
    “Rufus Stone Limited Edition”

I cannot find any details on a second print run.
    Can anyone shed some light?

    1. To the best of my knowledge it was a single print run! I may be wrong however! Rufus Publications no longer carries anything on their website about the sold-out edition. Perhap’s the first 350 copies of the limited edition were the ones signed by Parkinson’s son!

      Hope this helps!

  2. These exclusive limited editions are fine for rich people and investors but they should also publish standard retail editions at the same time for the many fans worldwide who can’t afford to spend hundreds of pounds on a single book and are denied the opportunity to enjoy them. Like “rattling your jewellery”, it goes against the spirit of The Beatles to serve such a small and exclusive audience.

    1. Can’t say that I disagree with you Mark. A good way to deal with this is to have 2 editions available: One for the mass market so everyone can share in the goodies and one for the “collector” who wants to have something a little extra or special in their collection. The purpose of the post is not to make people feel bad for what they can not afford. It is informational to show individuals what is out there in the marketplace!

      1. both you and mark make valid points. i enjoy genisis publications. over the yrs i have purchased at least 4 of the limited books, all were good reads
