There Are Faces I Remember… Some Have Gone and Some Remain
Angie McCartney’s description of the book which also features a beautiful cover image by Shannon MacDonald:
It is my pleasure to introduce you to my latest book. This is a personal look at some of the Fabs, their friends and family members who have crossed my path in the last six decades. All 168 of them. 114 you’ll find in the printed version and you’ll get an e-book passcode to access the other 54 folks who are an important, late-breaking part of the news!
The latest single Now and Then from the world’s Number 1 All Time Band has cemented that claim for all time. Whilst the song is wistfully beautiful, it is also true Beatles engineering. Go using AI to engineer a reunion that the world has longed to see since 1970, it has brought about that very thing, and a resounding success it is too.
Using the latest technology coupled with AI, this has put our beloved Mop Tops right at the forefront of the modern recorded industry, and it is most welcome. The fact that modern pressed and computerised as it is, is not making the headway it should be, we see the present younger generations seeking out something that was Then, but is Now. To quote a famous line, And You Know That Can’t Be Bad. I do however think that this will not be the last offering from The Beatles. There are complete songs still in cans and tapes that are waiting to be discovered. All in the fitness of time
I thought however that it would be good to share something that has just recently come into my possession, as i believe that it is relevant and important to Now and Then, and adds a lot of resonance to the whole proceedings.

Inside Number Three – The Illustrated History of Apple Records
Inside No3 takes you through that famous door, deep into the minds of all who worked there at Apple Records. This is done also in a very different way. This is not a kiss-and-tell diary, it is through fan adulation and understanding via a personal collection of artifacts and memorabilia that author Nigel Pearce has built up over the last 50 years.
Jude Kessler has a series of wonderful books and has a very difficult task to undertake as historical narratives are not easy to write. This 9-volume Lennon narrative currently being written by author Jude Southerland Kessler is certainly up to the task. Jude spends countless hours researching her series of books, interviewing many individuals who were “there” to recreate the ambiance and milieu of the story of one of the most interesting people to have been born during the twentieth century. This man was to start a rock ‘n’ roll band that was to sell over a billion records worldwide. He was an instrumental part of the cultural changes that occurred in the Sixties and his power with the youth culture was so strong during that decade, that the US government and the President of the United States tried to get him deported.
Series Number 9
Jude’s comprehensive Lennon historical biography is slated to run 9 volumes, however with the intense detail she presents in the books, it probably will run even more. The difficult aspect of writing these books is the attempt to get into that “complicated mind” of John Lennon with all of the inconsistencies that were present in that brilliant mind. Jude has published 5 books thus far in the narrative and the covers are pictured in this post. Even though we already know the ending to the story, Jude’s writing and research skills help to bring the wonderful man that brought us so much joy and laughter, back to life!!!
In Jude Kessler’s stunning debut narrative biography, you’ll learn the truths behind the Lennon legend. You’ll discover why the popular, rich, famous singer called himself a “Nowhere Man.” There are no hard copies left, but you can get it on Kindle by clicking here for $9.99
But for John Lennon, the hectic rise to glory failed to cure the constant Shivering Inside. He was still searching for something…or someone…to fill the hole in his heart. There are no hard copies left but you can get it on Kindle here for $9.99.
1964 in John’s life! “A Hard Day’s Night”, and created/recorded the accompanying, best-selling soundtrack; a World Tour, a Scottish sojourn, a lengthy North American Tour hitting cities all across the U.S. and Canada.
Want to learn Something New About the Beatles? You can count on Kevin Roach to guide you there!
Author Kevin Roach and the Beatles. Several wonderful books by the UK author, Kevin Roach have been available for quite some time. I am the proud owner of all of Kevin’s Beatles-related titles and they are all underrated gems in my opinion.
Kevin Roach is an author that I can always be confident that he will be able to find those rare documents that cast a new or different light on events we may have taken for granted in previous publications. I can always be assured of learning something I did not know before about the lives and families of the band that we love so much from that northern English city of Liverpool. Kevin’s books can be found on Amazon and Ebay as well.
A terrific book about John’s mum, Julia.
A limited edition title which is now difficult to find. Deals with the mania of Beatlemania!!!
An excellent book about George that deals with his spiritual roots growing up in Liverpool.
Kevin’s book about Ringo. You will learn a lot of new info about Ringo in this title!
A very entertaining title about the McCartney family in Liverpool!
The one thing I learned from beginning a collection of Kevin’s Beatles-related books, is that once you have one, you will feel compelled to get them all!
As explained in previous feeds, APPLE records through the active minds of those who were part of the setup had many plans and ideas, but alas in this world many of them failed to reach fruition for one reason or another.
Some were just vetos at a late stage, or a United no to proceed. The shame is that many of them are lost forever, but also we must be grateful that some have indeed survived in various forms, and I am pleased to show some here from my archives.
The first three are from a set titled Apple Lost Singles. These were for the U.K. market, and artists such as Badfinger, James Taylor, Mary Hopkin, Mortimer, and Twinkle Ripley, make a rare appearance along with Roger Daltrey, Leo Sayer, Marc Bolan, all of whom recorded at the Savile Row Studios.
No 4 and No 5 are CD test pressings of the mono mixes of Abbey Road and the Let it Be albums with EMI Tape Box details. A CD copy of the Revolver test pressings is also included for the record.
No 6 is the planned and projected Capitol single of Please Leave My Kitten Alone from the vetoed Sessions project.
No 7 is the projected Yellow Submarine EP before it was padded out to Album proportions for January 69 release.
Nos 8 and 9 are both original Glynn Johns mixes for the Get Back project, both rejected and held in the can until their resurrection for Let it Be.
Most of these will appear in the next book titled Deeper Inside No. 3, which is planned for next year.
Find out more about the incredible story of Apple Records from Nigel’s book Inside Number 3.

Love reading books put together by Beatles fans as the love of the band comes shining through with their writings. Here are a couple recent examples!!!
Got these great new titles from Charles Rosenay and Michael Ventrella recently, and the books are thoroughly riveting and entertaining!!! Many celebrities give their Top 10 Beatles-related lists along with numerous interesting anecdotes in the Rosenay book! It is so nice to see Charles Rosenay, who I have known for more than 40 years, finally releasing a Beatles book. The other author featured in this post, Michael Ventrella, was involved with the layout of the Top 10 Ten Beatles lists book! Well done guys!
Beatles fans who write these books do so with the primary motive being their lifetime love and appreciation of the band!
The Beatles on the Charts
Another book recently arrived that fills a much needed niche in the Beatles canon and that is their chart history. The author is Michael Ventrella, and it is only fitting that the all-time most successful entertainment phenomenon in total worldwide record sales should have a book like this to document their historic achievements and accomplishments!
So what is your favourite Beatles song and album? Let me know in the comments?
