Here is a nice print item that I was able to acquire for a reasonable price. After the early 70’s it became impossible to be able to afford a handwritten Beatles lyric as the prices went upwards in leaps and bounds as people were becoming more aware of the possibility that the Beatles might never reform.
After December 8, 1980, the fan-desired possibility became non-existent and very few people can afford a handwritten Beatles lyric after 1980.
When Julian Lennon released his excellent debut LP in 1984, I made a decision that if any of his handwritten compositions ever made it to the marketplace, I would attempt to purchase one as I love his work. I was able to acquire the handwritten lyrics to Julian’s song “Valotte” at a Las Vegas auction as well as a signed Valotte album cover. Julian had donated his handwritten lyrics to the Nordoff-Robbins charity to raise funds for children with disabilities.
Julian has a warm heart and that is demonstrated through the many beautiful melodies he has written and released over the years. I am very grateful that I was able to acquire these lyrics.

The magazine that was the inspiration for one of John’s songs on the White Album aka “The Beatles.”
George Martin had this magazine at the studio and John happened to rummage through it and found the “Happiness is a Warm Gun” article written by Warren W. Herlihy (above) and the rest, as they say, is history…….
The sad and ironic part of this particular story is obviously the way John’s life ended.
American Rifleman Magazine May 1968 issue. Copies of this magazine can often be found online on such services as Ebay.
Angie McCartney, Paul’s stepmother, has written several books about her experiences within the Beatles circle. Many of them are shown below! Two of the 4 books shown, the ones dealing with Beatles-related locations appear to be the same book with a different title, though one advertises Online extras within.
Angie is now in her ’90s yet remains very spry and active in the business world selling her line of McCartney teas! She is both friendly and feisty and loves to share her opinions with others. I have corresponded with Angie on quite a few occasions and she truly is a wonderful lady. Her daughter Ruth and her son-in-law, Martin Nethercutt, run McCartney Multimedia, a digital strategy organization and you can often see them Online and on Facebook.
With this post, we are shining a light on the books that Angie has produced concerning her Beatles experiences and her personal observations of growing up in the UK.

Your Mother Should Know
Your Mother Should Know is the second book from Dr. McCartney, who published her first, My Long and Winding Road, in 2013. Now 90 years old, she shows no signs of slowing down. Her latest work is a collection of often hilarious and always heartfelt quips, memories, lifehacks, salty one-liners and witty observations. Along for the ride is McCartney’s ever-loyal and equally saucy daughter Ruth, who, as a young child greeted her future stepbrother Paul at their first meeting with “I know who you are! You’re on my cousin’s wallpaper.”

Often a book that is of interest to Beatles fans and collectors is not always issued in the desired print format. The following book was written by the Lennon’s Spanish housekeeper who worked for the Lennons during the John Lennon house-husband years after the birth of their son, Sean.
Rosaura Lopez Lorenzo worked for John and Yoko and supplied a few nice stories and photos from the years that very little was known of what was transpiring in the Dakota. Her book was published only in a Spanish print edition. Eventually, the book appeared in English but only in the kindle format. Hope to one day see an English print edition of this book. Rosaura speaks fondly of the Lennons but she is also honest about a few problems that occurred in the household as well during her tenure there.
As you can see from the dates below the Spanish print edition appeared 8 years before the English kindle edition of the book!
At John Lennon’s house
